adventure and the old west! Join us on the adventure of a lifetime!
Take
a trip back in time and experience life as it was many years ago during
the gold rush of the late 1800's. Spend two days and one night at an
authentic
Arizona mining town. Set in the foothills of the Harcuvar
Mountains,
this is a land of stunning mountain vistas and star-filled skies.
Spend a
night
in a modern replica of an Old Timbered Mining Hotel and enjoy the
peaceful
quite of the Sonoran desert at Robson's Mining World. Relax on the deck
and enjoy the sights of the saguaro forest that surrounds the mining
camp.
After the sun goes down, a quite darkness surrounds you and the only
sounds
are that of the desert wildlife.
At
sunrise, lift off from the site of the Nella-Meda gold mining camp in a
hot air balloon! This flight provides
spectacular
views of the nearby Harcuvar Mountains (capped by 5300' Smith Peak) and
the saguaro cactus forests that surround the mining camp. During your
flight
of approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours aloft, you may ascend to altitudes
that will provide views of the distant Aguila and McMullenValleys as
well
as the majestic Harquahala Mountains and then descend to within a few
feet
of the desert floor, silently floating within feet of giant Saguaro
cactus.
You might also spot some of the many wildlife that call this desert
land
home... Javelina, Coyotes and Mule Deer as well as many different
species
of birds. Every flight is unique and no two flights are the same. While
wind direction and speed will determine how high your flight ascends
and
how many miles you travel, every flight is a most beautiful experience!
The air is so clear out here, you can often times see snow capped

Humphreys Peak (nearly 130 miles away), the highest point in Arizona!
Upon
landing,
we will celebrate with a traditional champagne toast and your pilot
will
present you with an Ascension Certificate suitable for framing. We will
then return to the mining camp where you can spend the rest of
your
stay gold panning or viewing the world's largest collection of
antique
mining equipment, hiking the many miles of desert trails and
viewing
ancient indian petroglyphs. You may also choose to simply relax and
enjoy
the wonderful views of the desert mountains that surround this
spectacular
location.
This flight
package
is excellent for couples seeking a romantic getaway! Available from
October
1st through May 1st. $750.00/per
couple.
Due to the
remoteness
of this flight location, balloon flight in this area provides greater
challenges
than our daily private flights. While your pilot is extremely skilled
in
flying
in remote and mountainous locations, there are certain situations that
can create discomfort for some individuals. This is an outdoor
activity and we often times will land in remote areas with no
facilities of any
kind. Therefore, we must require that our guests be in excellent
physical
condition and health. This can include hiking unknown distances or
spending
an unknown period of time in the desert. We also do not recommend young
children on this flight. Proper attire will include jeans/pants, hiking
shoes/sneakers, and a jacket or sweater. There may also be weight
limitations
(based on outside ambient air temperature). Call or email us for more
